Are Ukrainian archives still operating and accessible during the war?
Yes. Most Ukrainian state archives and civil registry offices continue to operate and process requests, and digitization of records has accelerated since 2022. Access to some collections in frontline and occupied territories remains limited, and certain fonds were evacuated for safekeeping. I verify the current availability of the specific records you need before any research begins.
Can I obtain legal documents from Ukraine while living abroad?
Yes. I retrieve certified birth, marriage, and death certificates, archival extracts, and other legal documents from Ukrainian civil registry offices and archives on your behalf — the entire process is handled remotely. Documents can be apostilled for international use and delivered worldwide by tracked courier. Typical cost: from 150 EUR per document, plus 60 EUR per apostille.
What information do I need to provide to start a search?
Every case starts with online intake form. It asks for exactly what I need : your ancestors’ full names, significant life dates (birth, marriage, death), religious affiliation, and specific geographical locations or village names, plus copies of every relevant document you hold. Provide whatever you know — even approximate dates, alternative name spellings, or partially remembered locations carry significant weight and have a strong positive impact on the research results. I reply to each completed form in writing with what can be obtained, the cost, the timeframe and the list of documents required from you.
How do I contact you?
Start with my online intake form. In the form, you choose your preferred channel for further communication: email, Telegram or WhatsApp. I reply exclusively to completed forms, in writing, through the channel you selected.
Do you offer free consultations?
No. Each completed intake form receives a written reply with the terms of work: what can be obtained, the cost, the timeframe and the documents required from you. For birth, marriage and death certificates, this reply also states whether the original records are preserved. Questions about your family history or rights for dual citizenship are answered through paid work: genealogical research and citizenship cases start with a paid Expert Assessment (EUR 150, about 7 days).
Can I call you or book a phone consultation?
No. I work in writing only: every case starts with the online intake form, and all further communication continues by email, Telegram or WhatsApp, whichever you prefer. Written communication protects your case:

My work covers records from the gubernias/governorates of the Russian Empire (including Podolia, Volhynia, Kyiv, Odesa, Sloboda Ukraine, Chernihiv, Poltava, Yekaterinoslav, Crimea), the Austro-Hungarian Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria, and the Duchy of Bukovina. I track lineages through the interwar administrations of the Second Polish Republic (Volhynia and Eastern Galicia), Greater Romania (Bessarabia, Northern Bukovina, and Hertza region), the First Czechoslovak Republic (Subcarpathian Rus), and the Soviet era. Archival collections follow modern state borders, so my research extends into nearby countries: I retrieve records from national and regional repositories in Poland, Romania, Moldova, Slovakia, Czechia, Hungary, Lithuania, and other countries of the region.
Will I be able to read and understand the historical documents you find?
Yes. I provide translations for all retrieved records. Historical documents from Eastern Europe feature multiple languages and complex handwriting, including old Church-Slavonic Cyrillic, Fraktur, Kurrent and other historical scripts. I specialize in documents in English, Ukrainian, Russian, Latin, Polish, German, Hungarian, Czech, Latvian, and Romanian. I translate all relevant findings into clear English for your personal records.

I apply full GDPR privacy safeguards to all client interactions and recent historical records, as detailed in the Data Protection Policy. I collect only the absolute minimum data required to conduct your research, focusing exclusively on our direct correspondence and the identity details necessary for legal mandates. I maintain a strictly minimal data footprint, utilizing zero marketing databases or mailing lists. Secure third-party providers process all payments, ensuring your banking credentials remain entirely isolated from my systems. I disclose your details exclusively when it constitutes a strict legal or procedural requirement to fulfill your research mandate with state archives, civil registries, or public notaries. You exercise full control over your data and retain the ability to request the permanent erasure of your correspondence at any time.
Does GDPR apply to the historical family records you research?
General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the European Union’s comprehensive data privacy law, protects living individuals exclusively. Data relating to deceased persons falls completely outside its scope. Under Ukrainian archival law, records younger than 75 years presume the individuals are living. I apply full GDPR privacy safeguards to all personal data within these recent records.
